Acceptable use policy
A cold outreach tool is only defensible if it is used for genuine business communication. This policy is what separates that from spam, and it is enforced.
What you must do
- Send only what is relevant. A message must plausibly relate to the recipient's actual job. "They have an email address" is not a reason to contact someone.
- Be identifiable. Real name, real company, real reply-to address, a real postal address in the footer. Never disguise who is writing.
- Honour opt-outs immediately. GTM for One does this automatically and permanently. Do not work around it, and do not re-import an address you were asked to stop contacting.
- Use mailboxes you are entitled to use, on domains you control.
- Respect your providers' terms. Several forbid redistributing their data. Using them here does not change that.
What you must not do
- Consumer email. This is a B2B tool. Do not send to personal addresses of private individuals, or to anyone in their non-professional capacity.
- Anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful: fraud, phishing, malware, impersonation of a person or company, or forged headers and sender identities.
- Harassment. Repeatedly contacting someone who has asked you to stop, or who has not answered across a whole sequence. The ladder ends; let it end.
- Regulated or high-risk offers where cold outreach is restricted or prohibited: securities and investment solicitation, lending, gambling, adult content, pharmaceuticals, or health claims.
- Scraping or purchasing lists in breach of a platform's terms, and importing them here. If a provider forbids redistribution, importing their export into a product is redistribution.
- Circumventing the rails: daily caps, spacing, suppression, opt-out links. They exist to keep your domain alive and your sending lawful.
How this is enforced
Some of it is enforced in code and cannot be turned off: the opt-out link and List-Unsubscribe header on every message, the permanent global suppression list, automatic suppression on reply and on hard bounce, per-mailbox daily caps with jittered spacing, and automatic pausing of a mailbox that keeps failing.
The rest depends on you. Accounts generating spam complaints, blocklist entries or credible abuse reports will be suspended without refund.
Reporting abuse
If you received a message you believe breaches this policy, write to support@gtmforone.com with the message and its headers. If you simply want it to stop, the unsubscribe link in the email is faster and takes effect immediately.
